Join us for the 20th annual Northampton Shelter Sunday, to be held on October 2 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Pulaski Park on Main Street in Northampton and Florence Savings Bank in Florence. And then join us for our 20th Birthday Party at Pulaski Park at 4:00!
Shelter Sunday began in the beautiful setting downtown known as Pulaski Park. The premise was very simple...if every household in Northampton contributed just $1 to helping the homeless, how much money would be raised. Over the years, the participating agencies have changed, but one thing remains constant: that simple premise.
Through these years, these dedicated organizations have seen thousands (yes, thousands) of individuals and families through quite possibly the toughest times in their lives.
In the beginning, a handful of folks canvassed as much as the city as possible. With each passing year, more and more volunteers joined in. We are now up to more than 75 volunteers, and we could still use more.
