Join us for the 20th annual Northampton Shelter Sunday, to be held on October 2 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Pulaski Park on Main Street in Northampton and Florence Savings Bank in Florence. And then join us for our 20th Birthday Party at Pulaski Park at 4:00!
As you can imagine, it takes many volunteers to make Shelter Sunday a success. Please consider donating just a couple hours of your time to help in this important cause. It's very easy, and we'll provide you with everything you need.
Each volunteer is asked to choose a neighborhood in Northampton, Florence, or Leeds that they would like to canvass. It can be your own neighborhood or one clear across the city, the choice is yours. Volunteers may canvass individually or with family and friends; however, no one under the age of 16 will be permitted to canvass alone. Shelter Sunday is an excellent opportunity to involve your children or grandchildren in helping the homeless in our community.
While most volunteers will canvass on Shelter Sunday itself, it is perfectly fine if you would prefer to canvass prior to that date.
For those not comfortable going door to door soliciting donations, we have a perfect solution! On the Canvassing Tips & Tools page, you'll find a letter that you can customize, print out, and tape to your neighbors' doors along with a brochure. The letter will ask them to leave their donation out the following day, and all you need to do is stop by and pick it up (hint--kids love to help with this sort of thing). It truly couldn't be any easier.

At that point, we will set aside your neighborhood of choice and arrange for you to either pick up your packet at Pulaski Park on Shelter Sunday or prior to that date at ServiceNet's offices.
